Everyone who has a certain understanding of the basic knowledge of ADSS optic cables knows that in the 110kV~220kV high-voltage power network, the reason why the optical fiber communication cables are burned or broken is caused by electrical corrosion. The main causes of electrical corrosion include the following:
1) Breakdown:
The space potential of the ADSS optic cables is too high, so that an arc with sufficient energy is generated on its surface, causing great heat, causing its outer sheath to breakdown, and molten edge perforations appear. At the same time, the aramid yarn is also burned, which greatly reduces the mechanical strength of the ADSS, causing cable breakage.
2) Electric traces:
The arc forms radial (dendritic) carbonization on the surface of the expansion sleeve. After electrical tracking occurs in the ADSS optic cables, its sheath cracks under tension and exposes aramid yarn.
3) Corrosion:
When the ADSS optic cables is in a high-potential electric field, leakage current will pass through the sheath and generate heat. This heat will cause the polymer of the sheath to slowly lose its binding force and eventually fail. It manifests itself as roughening and thinning of the surface of the sheath. Corrosion occurs slowly.
4) Dry band arc: In the 110kV~220kV high-voltage power grid, the ADSS cable is in a high electric field and dirty environment.
The surface of the optical cable has a high potential and becomes very dirty due to the influence of pollution. Therefore, the ADSS optic cable and the grounded A certain leakage current is generated between the hardware and heat is generated when it passes through the outer sheath of the optical cable. This heat not only reduces the bonding force of the polymer of the outer sheath material of the optical cable and makes it invalid, but also causes the water on the surface of the optical cable to continuously evaporate, causing some dry zones to appear randomly, which hinders the flow of leakage current. As a result, at both ends of the dry zone An accumulation of potential occurs. When this potential accumulates to a high enough level, a discharge phenomenon occurs on the surface of the outer sheath of the optical cable, forming an arc, which is called "dry-band arc" or "dry-band flashover." It can be seen that the electrical corrosion of ADSS optical cable is caused by dry band arc.
